Karakış Law Office was founded by Attorney Şefik KARAKIŞ, who has nearly 20 years of professional experience. After beginning his legal education at the Faculty of Law at the University of Liège in Belgium, he completed his studies at Galatasaray University Faculty of Law. Following the commencement of his legal career, he served as a legal rapporteur at the European Court of Human Rights (ECtHR) in Strasbourg, France, from 2005 to 2009.

In addition to various fields of law, Attorney Şefik KARAKIŞ possesses extensive experience in Human Rights Law, particularly in applications before the European Court of Human Rights (ECtHR) and the Constitutional Court.

In addition to practicing as an independent attorney, Şefik KARAKIŞ has provided professional training on Human Rights Law, particularly the procedures for applications to the European Court of Human Rights (ECtHR), at the Istanbul Bar Association. He has also lectured on the same subject at the Intern Training Center of the Istanbul Bar Association.

Attorney Şefik KARAKIŞ played a key advisory role in the establishment of the Human Rights Department within the Ministry of Justice and provided consultancy services on Human Rights Law and the procedural aspects of ECtHR litigation between 2012 and 2015.

During the same period, he also contributed significantly to the structuring of the Human Rights Compensation Commission, which was established as part of the national legal framework. Additionally, he delivered lectures and seminars on the European Convention on Human Rights (ECHR) and ECtHR procedures at various judicial institutions, including the Turkish Justice Academy.

Attorney Şefik KARAKIŞ works alongside experienced colleagues in various fields of law, with a particular focus on Human Rights Law. He also provides consultation services to fellow attorneys seeking to file applications with the Constitutional Court and the ECtHR. Leveraging his extensive experience in ECtHR litigation and Human Rights Law, he has advised on hundreds of applications and cases to date.
